Since 2011 the Gloucestershire Community Foundation http://www.gloucestershirecf.org.uk/ has distributed £33,000 worth of Surviving Winter grants to people and organisations to help those who have to decide between food or fuel. The grants are made possible through donations from people who could afford to forego their Winter Fuel Payment. However all donations are welcome. Help includes warmth packs, blankets, boiler repairs, funding Meals on Wheels and lunch clubs, supporting homeless shelters, providing winter food parcels, helping people pay their energy bills and better insulate their homes.
